PACM and MACM
Northspec is excited to further compliment our extensive lineup of resins and curing agents with the introduction of our new cyclocaliphatic amine PACM and methylenebiscyclohexylamine MACM. These new curative agents with further compliment our coatings resins and additives and better service our customers requirements.
Applications
PACM is a liquid unmodified cycloaliphatic amine used as an alternative to aromatic amines in temperature cured liquid epoxy resins. Some of the advantages offered are excellent mechanical and fatigue properties, long pot life at ambient temperatures, good chemical resistance against alkali, acid, water and hydrocarbon solvents when heat cured. Common applications include high temperature pipes and fittings, wind blades, tanks as well as casting and tooling.
MACM (4’,4’,-Methylenebiscyclohexylamine) is a colorless, transparent liquid used as a curing agent in epoxy and elevated temperature curative for epoxy resin systems. Common applications include UV resistant epoxy adhesives or paint curing agent, UV resistant polyurethane chain extender, used in the synthesis of polyaspartic esters and synthesis of UV monomers of nylon and epoxy resins.
